Bio
A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) since 1996, his most recent experience includes three years with an international engineering and construction firm where he served as Vice President of Global HSE. Throughout his career he has utilized his leadership, project planning, and managerial skills to consistently deliver value-added services resulting in improved environmental outcomes, reduced Worker Compensation exposure, cost effective engineered safety solutions and common sense sustainable processes. Working with company owners and staff, Robert coordinates and analyzes clients’ EH&S performance, provides regulatory services with an emphasis on the minimization of incidents and injuries and has extensive experience with domestic and international EH&S auditing.
His education includes a BA in Instrument Engineering Technology and Business Management from St. Edwards University in Austin, Tx. He is a member of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and American Society of Safety Engineers.
Qualifications
- High level of practical experience and knowledge of standards for OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, NIOSH, TSCA, Hazcom, HazWOPER, US Army Corps of Engineers EM-385 regulations, and numerous international, federal, state and local regulations.
- Excellent application of general management principles and techniques to the management of EH&S programs. Extensive specialized knowledge of legal and regulatory aspects associated with standards, regulations, and liability concerns as applied to environment, health and safety, emergency response, security and workers compensation.
- Advanced skills in the application of the sciences for the safe design of systems, processes, equipment, and products. Specifically: soil mechanics, structural systems, electrical, mechanical, inspection, and auditing, ergonomics, and fire protection. Proficient in environmental engineering design, waste management control, risk management and remediation.
- Talented in permit application review including Title V, NSR and NPDES. Implementation of multiple site Environmental and Safety Management Systems meeting ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
